Rome Travel Guide (with Offline Maps) - mTrip App Reviews

I just completed a 4 day/night trip to Rome. I dont know how I would have been able to see all of these sites without this app. I love that it gives walking directions and directions from previous destination. Im so glad the app works offline. My hotel was wonderful (especially for the price) but it didnt have wifi... I only ran into free wifi once during my whole trip... I saw almost all of the sites I wanted for a first trip to Rome.

I just got back from Rome. Used Mtrip to plan the trip. This App is great. I think it is a necessity for finding your way around a big foreign city. You can also benefit from it without incurring roaming charges.

Provided a very clean interface for organizing multiple sights each day. And helped us find nearby sites. Also, the mapping worked great while we were in Rome and we could even add in our own new restaurants. It doesnt have a lot of tourist detail about each site, but for planning and mapping its very useful.

Works very well to keep from getting lost in Romes twisting alleys and streets. Not requiring wifi for maps is a big deal in Europe. Unlike other guides, this one uses your gps position to show you where you are. Great job!

Was very helpful in getting around. Takes a while for GPS to work after losing signal from being in the metro but it comes around. It would be even better if you could include bus routes in the navigation. It would also be good to include routes from the airports into the city.

My husband and I never visited Rome before, so we shopped around for a good travel, tour guide style app. After testing the waters, we settled on this one. If you are concerned about the price, dont be. Buy the app!! Take it from a couple of penny pinchers, this app is priceless! Things we loved about it while in actual use: - Prior to our trip, it really helped us get an idea of the places we wanted to see. You can scan through virtually all the hot points of interest, which are categorized according types like "Monuments", "Religious", etc... It provides photos for most and it also provides a breif history, location, directions to and from, as well as hours of operation and cost of entry. -Since we didnt really know what to expect, we typed in our dates and specified our interests and voila! This app generated an itenerary completely tailored to us! It routed everything in a daily map and had estimated travel times between attractions. -Also prior to our trip, we found invaluable tips and advice on traveling in Rome that we would not have otherwise known. -It has a currency calculator, which we used OFTEN! Its nice to know exactly how much you are spending. -We used the offline maps every day. The maps, along with the addresses it automatically plotted from our itenerary, saved us from being hopelessly lost many times. -Im forgetting half the things this app does!! Seriously, if youre going to Rome, GET THIS APP NOW!!!

Totally addicted! First travel app Ive found that is truly useful without roaming charges! Im telling everyone, tourists AND locals. Cheers on making ours a terrific trip.

Writing this review from Rome and I am very displeased with the performance of this app. The offline map is terrible at best, tried multiple times today to get a fix but was unable every time. The info on the different sites is a great option but save yourself some money and just get a old fashioned tour book with a map instead.

The map is good, but be aware that the GPS is not real time and reflect your current location when you use the app to route from one loction to another. You need to manually refresh it to get your Current position.

Overall this is a very nice app able to auto generate a conveniently ordered list of places to walk to. The map is a little bit buggy because it doesnt always filter out shopping, drinking, and restaurants correctly. If you zoom in to see street names it looses your preferences and clutters the map with too many icons making the maps impossible to use. I had to manually jump back and forth entering lengthy foreign addresses to the iPhone map to navigate. I would rate this higher if the maps worked better.

Too pricey and just gives info from public websites. I would rather use tripit and other cheaper Rome travel planner apps.

Worked well and helped us stay on track

I havent used the app in rome yet because we dont leave for a couple weeks. However I have loaded the itinerary with the places we are going to visit and it is pretty handy and easy to use. One suggestion however, I am looking for a way that you an add "things to do" or "remember" or anythin other than a "place" to the itinerary. For example, I need to remember to reserve train tickets when I get into Rome. It would be nice to have a note on my itinerary that reminds me to do that. Right now, it seems you can only add "places" to the schedule. I like to be very organized so of my itinerary can remind me to call for tickets , or check on show times etc. that would be SUPER HELPFUL. I am hoping we can see an update in the next couple weeks that will help me out here. Otherwise I will rate the app again after I get back. Thanks!

App worked as expected and definitely recommend. However to developers user should be able to add sites into schedule at random; other than that great app.

The overall app is very attractive. The graphics are pleasing. The homepages content makes planning your trip easy. I can get information quickly. It is a leading edge design well-suited to first-time and repeat users. Impressive colors, graphics, photos, etc. I enjoy using the mtrip guides and would highly recommend the app to a friend or colleague.

We downloaded several apps to find our way around Rome. In the end, this one was the only one that worked reliably. This app has all of the attractions and is updated frequently. Thanks or a great app!
